The past two months have been quite the experience with what we assume to be Satan’s resistance. His interference could only mean that we are getting close to being in Finland. Our van was out of commission for nearly 2 weeks as the transmission needed replacement. This allowed us to live a few days without a vehicle near Philadelphia, PA. We intentionally plan to not have a car when we arrive in Finland, and this was an excellent practice run. We walked several miles to stores and eating establishments; however, the walking paths were somewhat inadequate in places. We are looking forward to the day when we can get around on foot with good walking paths and public transportation.
We intentionally budgeted a break in meetings in September. This was to allow time to get our motorhome serviced for the final few months of deputation. When we placed it in the shop, the mechanic noticed our fuel pump went out again and informed us that our fuel tank was being held in place by broken bolts and straps. It was miraculous that our whole fuel tank did not come off while driving down the road! We are thankful that God had His protective hand upon us as we traveled in the motorhome.
We are finishing up our last few meetings in October and are still working on obtaining visas (it is a slow process). We are thankful for your continued financial support and prayers for us. We are eagerly anticipating achieving full support and purchasing our plane tickets to Finland in the near future.

- Prayer: Safe travels to meetings and no mechanical issues
- Prayer: To have 4 more churches take us on for support
- Prayer: Jake’s salvation
- Prayer: That visas will be processed in a timely manner
- Prayer: To secure lodging in Finland (when the time comes)
